November 5, 2007
Tonight we had a FHE lesson on the Bill of Rights. We were talking about one of the ammendments that had to do with war time and so we were explaining if we were in a war . . . . .
Liberty pipes up with 'we are in a war'. At this point I'm thinking wow, my kids up with current affairs! Then I ask her, we are in a war? 'Ya we're in the 2nd war' (ie we're in the Rexburg 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) We couldn't help but laugh it was so cute!

October 31, 2007. Halloween! Everyone is so excited. Even Brylee got in the spirit of things and patiently waited to open her candy until she was done collecting (she was ecstatic that people were just handing over candy to her). Carter and Kayson thought it was pretty cool both being nights, and Liberty was so excited to show off her southern belle costume to grammy (who could appreciate it more than her).

October 26, 2007

Uh-oh. Somebody got into mommy's makeup!

October 26, 2007

The kids (and I include Kade in that :) were so excited for their first chance to wear their costumes. Liberty had a carnival at her school tonight and the kids really enjoyed it other than Brylee was terrified of Kade (that is why she isn't in the picture-she wouldn't go near him). If you can't tell we have Jack skelington, a southern belle, and a knight. Not pictured is little red riding hood.

October 25, 2007. After that freak snowstorm, we actually had some really pleasant days again, wahoo!! I wasn't ready for the kids to be stuck inside all winter yet. Anyway, Kade got these fun shots of the kids on the trampoline doing their 'tricks'.

October 24, 2007.

Brylee is such a thorough eater. She even licks her plate/bowl clean. If you look close you can see the evidence of it in her hair.

October 20th and 21st, 2007

Kade and I had a fun weekend planned for our anniversary, but as fate would have it we were called at our hotel room at 2:00 a.m. to go home and see to sick kids. Codi rallied through the rest of the night allowing us to at least go back and finish our nights rest, but we had to go home early the next day and cancel the rest of our plans. Brylee didn't mind-she had mom and dad home to watch mickey mouse with her (her favorite show). That is until she caught it the next day. I was the only one lucky enough to not catch it (due to the anitbiotics in my system at the time). But I still got my share of fun. I think I had about 20+ loads of laundry those two days with another 10+ over the next couple of days. Whew! glad that one is over.

October 6, 2007.

Whew! What a storm, we were supposed to get maybe an inch or two-but we got more than we bargained for. It snowed all morning and into the afternoon and the flakes were huge. Most of the trees still had all of there leaves so they caught more snow than usual. There were branches breaking everywhere. It was crazy, but very pretty. This tree in our backyard probably had the worst damage. It look a little funny now with all of the gaping spots up its trunk. Brylee was fascinated by the snow until I took her out in it. Then she decided it wasn't so great!

October 3, 2007

Kayson could give Quin a run for his money-with his biker babe on the back of his bike they ride off into the . . . . .driveway. Not exactly a road trip, but hey where else can you go when you're not supposed to cross the street alone!(He could use a little help on his leather getup though-purple and green froggy slippers don't quite cut it!)

October 1, 2007.

I've always been really boring about pancakes, but tonight we went all out and tried Mickey Mouse. Now I've done it. My kids won't ever let me do just round pancakes again.

September 22, 2007

We took advantage of one of the last nice fall days today. The kids enjoyed filling their bat leaf bags while Mom worked on cleaning up the flower beds.

September 21, 2007

Pretty!!! Brylee found mommy's makeup. She's pretty smart-got the mascara on the right area of the face:)

September 21, 2007

Happy Birthday Mom! Today is Deidra's birthday. The kids helped me bake a cake and pick our presents for Mom. We got her a Mickey Mouse sweatshirt, Mickey Mouse pillows, a scale (she asked for it), and chocolates from Florence's. Last night we went to the temple, out for dinner at Olive Garden and then to Grammy's for some desert. For dinner tonight the kids and I made her spaghetti. It was a pretty fun day.

September 11, 2007.

Jack was testing his new pillows out for nap time and Kayson and Brylee decided to join him. (I'm sure that is such a clean floor they are laying on, yuck!)

Augsut 25, 2007.

We went to the garden's at BYU-I to take pictures of the kids. These are some of our favorites.

Liberty came home from school today and told me she was learning about her five sensibles. Sight, Sound, Smell, Touch, & Taste:)

Labor Day means it is time for the annual Farley Family Reunion in Parker. Each year, we get together at the park in Parker for lunch and games. This year Gary and Alene saved us all and showed up a day earlier to take care of the hornets nests. They said they killed of 6 nests. Way to go!

The guilty party is Kainoa. While all the others were playing water balloon volleyball, he was busy trying to hit them with water balloons thrown by hand.

The kids all went "fishing" over the rock wall.

Liberty caugth a white fish "Cookies and Cream Hersheys"

Kayson caught a "Nemo" fish & sucker fish. (Kit Kat & Tootsie Pop)

Brylee's Brown trout & sucker fish. (Hershey's Chocolate bar & Tootsie Pop)

August 30, 2007

Brylee was being a stinker and would not go to bed so Deidra asked her if we should put her on top of the book shelf so she can sleep up there like a teddy bear. She thought that it was pretty fun until Deidra started to move away for me to take the picture.

August 22, 2007
First day of school!! Oh we were just giddy at our house this morning with the prospect of school before us. Liberty couldn't hardly contain herself (although some it was just a little nervous energy i think) I took her to school today and tomorrow she will try the school bus. I thought I was doing pretty well until i tried to sing along with the radio on the way there and my voice started cracking. But, I held it together! I was close to tears, but the hustle and bustle of getting her there and dropped off at the right place didn't allow me time to give in and then it was over and I didn't have to worry. When I picked her up, I asked her if she had fun and all she said was "I thought it was going to be boring, but it was fun- I can't wait for tommorrow!!! " And so she's off and running at full speed. There goes my little girl, growing up on me. It's kind of bitter sweet. I'm so excited that she is progressing and learning, but it definately is a page turned in the book of life, whew. It was kind of different not having her little chatter box going all morning! Anyways, that's it for our first day of school:)

August 14, 2007.
Liberty and Halle finally got to have their sleepover! They had a lot of fun doing everything on Liberty's schedule, the only down side being their fued with the boys (Kayson also had a friend- Ashton- over for the evening.) Lots of giggles all night long, oh the joy of sleepovers!

Happy Birthday to Kade!!!

August 1, 2007. This is our new dog jack. He was dropped off at our neighbors and we decided to give him a home. He seems to be pretty well behaved, but time will tell. We went and got him fixed and he got shots on Tuesday the 7th, so unless he runs off, he is officially a Smith. Poor dog, we had to put a cone on him so he wouldn't tear his stitches out, I think the cone hurt his pride especially when he went outside with it on :) Brylee thinks she is such big britches being able to walk the dog. It's funny to watch, if you ask her about it she just ducks her head and acts like it's no big deal, she does this kind of thing every day. In reality the dog is about as big as her, but luckily he is pretty obedient and doesn't try to escape from her. As Grammy said, we've joined the ranks of pet owners, joy!!!

July 27-28, 2007.
We decided we wanted to take the kids camping one more time before school started, so we made our big plans for this weekend. Originally we were going to go up to a campsite by Kelly Canyon, but when we go there, there was no shade (and it was hot that day) So we turned around and headed back Rexburg direction hoping to stay at a campground we'd seen called twin bridges. When we got there we found that there was no running water ( except the river) so, finally we ended up going to Rigby Lake. Our campsite was barely wide enough for our tent and we had cars passing us all night long, but the kids didn't notice and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The lake was a big hit as was the walking path. I can't believe I packed for hours and drove over an hour just to end up at Rigby Lake for a one night camp trip!
